7:24 am - Fifteen (January 24th)
That was quite the entertaining game to watch. I'm pleased to see that Ravenclaw and Gryffindor both haven't 'lost their stuff'. Now let's see if the same holds true of Slytherin, and we might be in for a good season, what remains of it.

How fares everyone?

7:48 pm - Fourteen (January 18th)
Out of the Infirmary. Thanks to Quidditch I'm accustomed to broken limbs.

I do hope that everyone else is feeling better, or on their way to that. Although I understand this is not the case for some.

If this keeps up, I think the school will need to hire another Healer to assist Madam Pomfrey. Who has been doing a wonderful job. Perhaps something should be done to thank her for her tireless effort.

Finally, the return of Quidditch. This should make the school year a slight bit more interesting.

Naturally we will be holding extra practices to get everyone into shape again.

Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on how you look at it - we're playing in both the February and the March games. Which means less practice time to get into shape. But also means less time spent sitting on our collective laurels.

First practice is going to be on Wednesday. I'll post the time up in the Common Room later today. I have some new drills to run.

4:26 pm - Twelve (December 30th)
It's been quite a busy holiday break, as is always the case at Christmastime. So many parties and other social events to attend. They've all been lovely, of course.

I am glad, however, that my parents don't hold a Christmas party, since they always have their grand Valentine's Ball in February. It was nice to be able to return to the quiet of the manor after every party.

It will be interesting to see how things are at school once the holidays come to a close.

Mother had the piano tuned just before I returned home. It plays beautifully. So much better than the pianos at school, I must say.

Today will be a signularly languid day, relaxed, before all of the social events begin. It should all prove very interesting, at the very least. Properly entertaining as well.

7:51 am - Ten (December 17th)
I will be leaving this evening for home, for those who are interested.

It's going to be quite nice to sleep in a room by myself and not with others again. No offense to my roommates, naturally.

I'm also looking forward to the food. Our House Elves are quite skilled in that area.

[Hexed Private to Mariana]

I was wondering if you would like to come around for tea some afternoon this break?

My social calander for the holidays is already filling up quickly. So many parties and dinners and gatherings to attend. I almost need to invest in a Time Turner to fit them all in.

So do tell me, are there any particularly important parties that I just cannot miss?

I, for one, will not be complaining about 'woe is me, the Christmas holidays are upon us'.

I enjoy going home for the holidays. The House Elves always outdo themselves with food, and there are always so many fabulous parties to attend.

Not to mention the gifts. An entire holidays centered on gifts. What's better than that? And yes, I am well aware of the whole peace on Earth goodwill towards men malarky aspect. Which isn't nearly as much fun

Perhaps we need to have some group sessions at the school, where people can talk about what has happened.

Small groups, lead by professors, where people can air their thoughts and concerns in a safe enviornment.

Since people like to nance about with feelings and cry like idiots and all

I thought people were supposed to grow more intelligent as the school year goes on, not less.

Because the general intellect of the school seems to be decreasing rapidly. Thankfully some people manage to avoid the epidemic of idiocy.

Perhaps we need to organize some indoor activities, as we're no longer allowed out doors, and some people will surely go stir-crazy.

Parlour games, or board games, perhaps, in the Great Hall in the evenings, after dinner time?

Another suggestion would be to mark out a course using some of the less-used or un-used basement hallways for flying, for those who want to stay conditioned while Quidditch is on hold.

Well I feel perfectly fine, although I seem to be in the vast minority.

The Common Room positively reeks of vomit. Although that cannot be helped with everyone feeling ill.

I do wonder what the reason is. It's too much to be coincidence. Some food was spoiled at the party, perhaps?

I often wonder the point of walk-outs and protests.

And do not spout nonsense about bringing light to a 'cause'. At least, not in this case, where everyone in the castle is well aware of what has been going on.

Still, classes were nicer with less idiots people in them.

An Ice Cream Social and talk of (Attempted) Murder Most Foul.

And all before lunch. What a day this is.

As shocking as it might be, I think I will choose not to lament about injured and ill students - although I do wish them the best in their recovery, naturally.

I'm looking forward to Quidditch practice tomorrow. I'll refrain from unnecessary bravado, as that seems far too common these days, and I wouldn't want to be thought common. I dare say we have a good team this year except that little girl who will probably get distracted making daisy chains or some such

I'm also looking forward to our upcoming trip to Hogsmeade, as it will be a chance of scenery, if nothing else. Although it will lend more fuel to the flames of gossip, I'm sure, for all the trite minded. I suppose those whose lives aren't interesting enough have to live through the lives of others instead.
